Terrible: Body of unidentified woman causes panic in Edo

There was panic among residents of Ezoti street, Benin city on Friday when the corpse of an unidentified half-naked woman was discovered lying face-down close to the Central Hospital.
Reports say the woman was found with her hand bag placed behind her and a foamy liquid oozing from her mouth at a location opposite the Edo State Ministry of Justice,  .
Her mobile phone and charger were also lying on the ground as motorists and pedestrians passed by wondering what could have killed the victim.

A passersby told Punch that she had seen the body very early in the morning.

“The dead body has been there since 6:45am. The police have been called to remove the body so that it can be identified by relatives or friends. But I do not know why it is taking them more than two hours to get here.”

Another resident said, “You will hardly find anybody on this street by 8pm or 9pm because it is usually dark

and scary. A similar incident has happened before, when a young person was seen lying dead on this same street.”

It is not clear exactly how the women met her end but many people believe she may have been killed by unknown assailants.
