
The police report states that Barrientos got married to men from Egypt,
Turkey, Georgia, Pakistan and other countries while one of the men was
deported from the country after making threats against the United
States.
It was learnt that Barrientos married six times in 2002 alone and at the time of her arrest, she was still married to four men.
When investigators asked Barrientos about her marriage to Vakhtang
Dzneladze of Georgia, she admitted to having received money for the
marriage.
As soon as the wedding bells stopped ringing, seven husbands applied for permanent resident in the country.
When some of them were denied, they filed for divorce and submitted new applications, stating that they were married to other women.
Barrientos was found in possession of numerous marriage certificates, which were obtained in several cities across the state.
She was charged with two counts of offering a false instrument for filing, each punishable by up to four years in prison if convicted.
