Man stabs lover to death in ilorin for rejecting his marriage proposal(Photo)

A young man said to be a franchise officer with one of the leading mobile telecommunication operators (name withheld) Monday went berserk as he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend,Tosin Ashinwa to death in Ilorin, Kwara State over the refusal of the lady to agree to his marriage proposal.New Telegraph reports.

He also allegedly stabbed his girl friend’s mother who had come to intervene in settling the ensued dispute between the two. The older woman, however, luckily escaped the attack with serious injuries.

It was revealed that the man and his lover had been going out for some time, and hia lover who was said to be in 30s had refused to marry him because he was going out with several other women at the same time.

The matter later came to limelight again on Monday morning when the man threatened to kill her if she refused to accept his proposal.

At the peak of the argument, the mother of the girl reportedly came in as the man dashed into the kitchen to pick up a knife and attacked the two women.

Reports claim that the girl was stabbed several times on the neck and in the armpit.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, while confirming the incidents, he affirmed that the police are already on the trail of the fleeing suspect
