She said: “I always treat my long braid like a treasure and talisman. I think growing hair is like maintaining life so I haven’t cut it.”
Even when she was offered a 19,000 yuan (N596,100) for her unbelievably long braid Mrs Meiying refused. The old woman hopes to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Though her hair cause some difficulties, woman keeps working and only complains that it takes around a week to dry it properly after washing. The farmer believes that long hair will garantee her better health and long life.
The world’s longest documented hair belongs to Xie Qiuping, also Chinese, at 5,6, when measured on May 8, 2004.
